Established in 1999 in response to community needs, FNQ Volunteers Inc. is the lead agency for volunteering in the Far North Region. It contributes to the community development and social inclusion of the Far North Queensland region through the development and delivery of community and volunteer services. Our services include volunteer training and education, advocacy, support and volunteer referrals for a wide range of community, not-for-profit organisations throughout the region.
Additionally, FNQ Volunteers leads the not for profit sector in raising the profile of volunteering to encourage an inclusive and healthy community and is now a well-respected, efficient and effective regional body for volunteering in Far North Queensland.

FNQ Volunteers Inc. seventh Annual General Meeting held on October 28 was a great success with over 50 Members, invited guests, staff and volunteers attending.

Board Members 2008 -2009
At FNQ Volunteers Inc's sixth Annual General Meeting in September 2008 the following board members were elected for the next twelve months:

FNQ Volunteers Inc. would like to thank retiring Board Members Fr. George Markotsis and founding CEO, Jennifer Hunter for their valuable contribution to the board since its inception in 2002 and wish them the very best in future endeavours.
In April 2009 the resignation of Board Member Chris Kahler was accepted by the Board. Chris leaves the organisation due to work commitments having served on the Board for the past 18 months.
In May 2009 FNQ Volunteers Inc. welcomed two new Members to the Board, Ms Nerelle Nicol and Rev Doug Foster. Nerelle and Doug bring a wealth of experience from their respective positions in the community sector. |
