    International Volunteer Managers Day
Celebrated every year on November 5, International Volunteer Managers Day (IVM Day) was founded and observed for the first time in 1999. Up until 2005, IVM Day shared its day of celebration with International Volunteers Day on December 5. However, in 2006, IVM Day moved to a stand alone date and was celebrated for the first time on November 1. An identified clash with key dates in Europe saw a final shift to the day's current date of November 5 in 2008.

FNQ Volunteers Inc. IVD celebrations 2011 information here.

International Volunteer Day December 5 (IVD) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. IVD is now celebrated world wide with thousands of volunteers involved in a range of IVD initiatives including clean-up campaigns, conferences, exhibitions, morning teas and many other activities all aimed to highlight the role of volunteers in their communities.

IVD is also significant for another reason. It marks the launch of the tenth anniversary of the 2001 International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), which also coincides with the European Year of Volunteering. IYV+10 will be an opportunity for people all around the world to join a global effort to reinvigorate the spirit of volunteerism.

2011 will be the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers and it has been declared by the United Nations as a year to review and celebrate progress since 2001.

IAVE is calling on volunteers worldwide to sign up in support of the 10th anniversary of the UN International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10) in 2011. To build momentum for this important anniversary, IAVE need you to add your voice to the call to make IVY+10 another landmark year for volunteering and to encourage others to do so.
